Santa Was Good To Skelton Crew

From our crew to yours - we hope you had a VERY Merry Christmas!!!

This year was a bit different for us in the fact that we actually got each other presents. The last couple of years we decided to save some money and forgo the gifts to one another, but not this year. And I forgot how much fun it is!

We had only one rule and that was that it had to be stuff that we'll take with us on our trip. I'm not going to mention the budget part because I totally went overboard in that department, although it was all stuff we wanted for cruising. You just can't beat some of those (online) Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, which we'll miss next year so it was a 'now or never' mood that struck. And I didn't hear Ron complaining too much about it.

A couple of our 'necessities' haha

Gettin' down to bidness with my gloves and bear spray
Sorry about the unfortunate face I'm making

So many toys and so little energy

The 'big' gift
We also got some more clothing, gear and galley stuff from our families that we can't wait to try out! We just might actually be ready to go when the time comes :)

Although we'll miss our families next year, we may have talked a few relatives into meeting up with us somewhere warm for the holidays next year...unless that was the champagne talking. ::Fingers crossed!::

  1. Have fun on the journey. Are you setting off at first spring thaw?

    1. Hi Chris, we plan to use the spring and early summer to finish boat work/prep then leave sometime around early July.

  2. Two things I love: a) the bear spray (we have it too...funny story...) and b) the iSUP. You will LOVE it, it's the best (and most practical) boat "toy" ever. Getting close - very exciting!!!

    1. Hi there! Wow, a blogging celeb on our blog, sweet!! ;) I too love the bear spray...and the fashionable holster it came with. As for the iSUP, Ron thought he was getting a tool set for the boat but WE decided that an iSUP would be more fun for US and therefore took priority (after all we have a dog to get to shore every now and then). WE are still looking for said tools!

    2. Ha! "blogging celeb" (blushing)! Too funny...as for tools, the bosch re-chargable power drill is something that we use a LOT. Just in case you're still looking :) It's not cheap, but it's very handy! http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-DDB181-02-Lithium-Ion-Batteries-Contractor/dp/B00N8I29X2/ref=sr_1_1?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1421191237&sr=1-1&pebp=1421191952107&peasin=B00N8I29X2

    3. Thanks for the rec, we just got the ryobi drill and impact driver set that Ron "needed". Those lithium batteries are not joke, I know they're supposed to be better but they sure add to the price! Hurts a bit now but (hopefully) pays off later. Happy packing, I know you're really getting down to the wire!
